Soren Matz has dedicated his life to high-quality, timeless furniture. He started his career in his native Denmark with classical cabinetmaker’s training, and followed that with two decades refining his craft in Japan. Having relocated himself and his business to China, Soren has realized his long-time dream of launching Matzform Furniture to produce classic Scandinavian furniture with the highest quality craftsmanship, and make it available to the world at accessible prices.

Soren comes by his dedication to quality naturally, having come from a shipbuilding family. His Great-Grandfather founded his own shipyard in 1910, building wooden ships for the fishing, shipping and leisure yachting markets. This was woodworking where commitment to quality literally meant everything, and this is an ethos Soren has maintained in his own lines of furniture.
